Terminology
The Crown: The land formation that makes up the immediate kingdom of the Djra race. The Crown is a ring of volcanos, the largest of which, Masadjra, being the top 'jewel' of the crown.
Djra: Rough around the edges, might-makes-right kind of race. They value conquest (getting nice things), crafting (making nice things), and personal space.
Fury: The djra army that expands its empire. Though mostly djra, the Fury incorparates several other races it's conquered. Anyone willing to join is welcome, as long as they survive the brutal training process
King (Crowned , Raze): The Djra empire is pretty expansive, extending over several continents, and its aim is to keep doing so. Running this large empire are two kings: The Crowned King's rule is predominantly over the Crown, and the surrounding city-states, to the edge of the continent. The Raze King is more of a glorified general, in charge of the unyeilding force pushing the empire, the Fury.
Masadjra: Why, that's the name of this comic! It's the name of the volcano the capitol is centured around. (Fun fact: MasaYa is the Nicaraguan goddess of volcanos/underworld. Apparently she smells awful, and looks hideous).
Nymphs: Whimsical, thoughtful kind of race. Nymphs will entertain just about any form of thought or superstition. They value knowledge (from science to story-telling. Especially story-telling), freedom (recently an enslaved race, now primarily nomadic) and good company.
Taking Form: Djra is an ancient race that was once very different looking. Over thousands of years the Djra have evolved to channel their more beastial primal form. Djras learn to take form around the age of puberty, and typically master the technique mid-teens. Physical changes include dialated pupils, swelling of muscles, hunched over stature with hump, and increased saliva. Individuals experience tunnel vision, super strength, and a frenzied state of mind. Taking form requires a certain amount of focus and a high threshold for pain as the tranformation requires drastic physical changes.
Xolobo: (Sho-lo-bo)s are large desert dwelling canines that have been (for the most part) domesticated, and commonly used as war mounts. Fun facts: I based this critter off later therapsids and hyenas. More fun facts: Xolo generally refers to dog in Nahuatl. Lobo, of course, is spanish for wolf (I'm so fucking clever)
