The little design/circle/mandala thing is all hand drawn. You'll notice there's a central-American theme to this comic. The mandala is based off the Aztec calendar, here in the story it nearly represents a calendar, but it's mostly a zodiac/pantheon sort of thing. (Fun bonus fact for you (yes you!): I hadn't finished it at this point, so I'm using the parts that I had, lol)
